PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: 9 August 2026

This policy describes how Strider Solutions collects, uses and discloses your personal information when you visit stridersolutions.com, buy from us, or otherwise deal with us.

We are a New Zealand business and we handle your information under the Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles. If you're outside New Zealand, your local privacy law may give you additional rights — those are set out in section 08.

THE SHORT VERSION

Question Answer
Do you sell my data? No. Never have, never will.
Who sees my order details? Us, our payment processor, and the people who ship your parcel.
Can I get it deleted? Yes — email us. Section 07.
Do you use AI on my data? Only for internal admin, with human review. Section 06.
Where does it live? On Shopify's infrastructure, which means overseas. Section 09.

01  /  WHAT WE COLLECT

Directly from you:

  • Contact details — name, address, phone number, email.
  • Order information — billing and shipping address, payment confirmation, contact details.
  • Account information — username, password, security questions, if you create an account.
  • Shopping activity — what you view, add to cart, or add to a wishlist.
  • Support correspondence — whatever you choose to put in a message to us.

Automatically, through cookies: usage data about how you use the site — device and browser information, network and IP information, and how you interact with pages. See section 03.

From third parties: our platform provider (Shopify), our payment processors, and advertising or analytics partners whose pixels and tags run on our site.

02  /  WHAT WE USE IT FOR

  • Running your order. Taking payment, picking and packing, arranging freight, handling returns and exchanges, and keeping you updated.
  • Marketing. Sending you email or post about new kit and offers, and showing you ads. You can opt out of marketing email at any time using the unsubscribe link — we'll still email you about orders you've placed.
  • Security and fraud prevention. Spotting and acting on fraudulent or malicious activity. If you have an account, keep your credentials to yourself and tell us straight away if you think it's been compromised.
  • Support and improvement. Answering your questions and making the site and the range better.
  • Legal obligations. Tax and customs records, and anything else the law requires us to keep or produce.

03  /  COOKIES

We use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to run the site, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. For detail on the cookies that come with running a store on Shopify, see shopify.com/legal/cookies. Most browsers accept cookies by default and you can change that in your browser settings — be aware that blocking them can break parts of the site, including checkout.

04  /  WHO WE SHARE IT WITH

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where it's needed to run the business:

  • Service providers — our platform (Shopify), payment processors, fulfilment and third-party logistics partners, freight carriers, IT and analytics providers.
  • Customs authorities — for international orders we're legally required to declare shipment and recipient details.
  • Marketing partners — who handle your information under their own privacy terms.
  • Where you ask us to — or where you use a social login or widget.
  • Where the law requires it — or in connection with a sale or restructure of the business, or to protect our rights or someone else's.

We don't use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.

05  /  HOW LONG WE KEEP IT, AND HOW IT'S SECURED

We keep your information as long as we need it to run your account, fulfil and support your orders, meet our tax and legal obligations, and resolve any disputes. Order records are held for the period required by New Zealand tax and customs law.

No system is perfectly secure and information sent over the internet isn't guaranteed safe in transit. Please don't send us sensitive or confidential material through insecure channels — and note we will never ask you for your full card number or password by email.

06  /  ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

We use AI tools in the running of the business — for things like drafting content, analysing sales data, and helping with administration and customer support. Where that involves your personal information, we treat it the same as any other disclosure to a service provider, and we hold ourselves to the following:

A person makes the decisions. We don't let an automated system decide anything that affects you — a refund, a warranty claim, an order — without a human reviewing it.

We don't feed your data to AI for training. We don't provide your personal information to AI providers to train their models.

We keep it to what's needed. We use the minimum personal information required for the task, and we use tools with terms that don't allow your information to be retained or reused for other purposes.

New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020 applies to the use of AI the same as anything else, and using an AI tool doesn't reduce our responsibility for what's done with your information. If you'd like to know whether AI was involved in a particular decision about you, just ask.

07  /  YOUR RIGHTS

Under the Privacy Act 2020, if you're in New Zealand you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct anything that's wrong

We'll respond to an access or correction request within 20 working days, as the Act requires. We may need to confirm who you are first.

Depending on where you live you may also have rights to deletion, data portability, restriction of processing, withdrawal of consent, and to appeal a decision we make on your request. We'll honour these where they apply to you. Some rights aren't absolute and we may decline a request where the law permits — if we do, we'll tell you why.

To exercise any of this, email support@stridersolutions.com. We won't treat you any differently for asking.

08  /  COMPLAINTS

Come to us first — email support@stridersolutions.com and we'll deal with it properly. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz or 0800 803 909. If you're outside New Zealand, you can complain to your own data protection authority.

09  /  INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

We're based in New Zealand, but our platform, payment and analytics providers operate globally, so your information may be stored and processed overseas — including in the United States. Where we transfer personal information out of Europe or the UK, we rely on recognised transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK equivalent, unless the destination has been found to provide adequate protection.

10  /  REVIEWS, LINKS AND CHILDREN

Reviews and user content. Anything you post publicly on our site is public and visible to anyone. We can't control who sees it or what they do with it.

Links to other sites. We link out to other websites from time to time. Their privacy and security practices are theirs, not ours, and a link isn't an endorsement.

Children. Our site isn't intended for children and we don't knowingly collect information about them. If you're a parent or guardian and believe a child has given us their information, email us and we'll delete it.

11  /  CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy to reflect changes in how we work or what the law requires. The revised version goes on the site with a new "last updated" date, and we'll take any further steps the law requires.
