Any pack can swallow 3 days of kit. By hour three of the carry, a bad one is costing you — weight hanging off your shoulders instead of your hips, gear you need buried under gear you don't, and a sleep system soaking up everything stacked on top of it. The LFP is built around the carry, not just the capacity.
◈ Dual-Compartment Architecture
The main top compartment handles all personal equipment. The dedicated lower sleeping bay is fully sealed behind an internal zipped flap — your sleep system stays clean, dry, and protected from everything stacked above it. Access via a side-mounted flap lid keeps both compartments independent without slowing you down.
Two compartments. Zero cross-contamination. Total organisation.
Everyone's dug through a full pack in the dark for their sleeping bag. With a sealed bay of its own, yours comes out in one movement — dry — and goes back in the same way at first light.
Para-cord and barrel locks on both drawstring closures provide additional compression and weather protection. A fixed Claymore pouch on the lid gives immediate access to mines, MEIs, or single weapon systems with all test equipment. A wide mesh admin pouch under the lid keeps smaller essentials organised and within reach.

The 1606MC internal frame is shaped to follow the contours of the back for all-day comfort, with recurved arms providing stable attachment points and support for loads over 200 lbs. Made from DownEast's proprietary fragmentation-resistant polymer — selected for use in new USMC packs — and paired with an ergonomically contoured, MOLLE-equipped shoulder harness that puts the load on your hips, where it belongs.
