Fireside 3 — Primaloft® Cross Core Ultra + Aerogel / Comfort −5°C
Your pack, your mat and your cold-weather layers are already built to a standard. The Fireside 3 is the sleep half of that system — comfort rated to −5°C, extreme to −12°C, 1,520 grams, packed down to 23 × 28 cm. Insulated with Primaloft's Hi Loft Cross Core Ultra with Aerogel, the same insulation class SORD runs through the MACWO range.
✕ A Camping Bag Solves A Different Problem
Retail bags are engineered around one assumption — a still body, a dry night, and all the time in the world to get in and out. The Fireside 3 is built around the opposite set. Bonded 20K laminate through the foot box and hood, because those are the two ends that meet wet ground and wet air. A centre zip on non-locking sliders, because you may need to be out of it and standing in seconds. Cross Core Ultra with Aerogel, because the bag gets crushed into a pack every morning and still has to loft by last light. Those aren't the decisions an outdoor retail brand makes.
◈ Construction — Shell To Core
Outer shell: 50D nylon with DWR. Inner: 20D nylon with thermal-reflective properties, bouncing radiated body heat back at you rather than letting it pass into the shell. Between them, Primaloft® Hi Loft Cross Core Ultra with Aerogel — a synthetic that holds most of its loft when damp, where down clumps and stops insulating altogether. Foot box and head area step up to a 3-layer bonded waterproof/breathable laminate at 20K waterproof, 20K MVP.

⬡ Build The Sleep System
A bag alone doesn't stop conduction — the cold deck pulls heat straight through crushed insulation underneath you. Pair the Fireside 3 with the Straight Mat Insulated to put a thermal barrier between your core and the ground, and add MACWO Booties as a rest layer so your feet aren't the thing that wakes you. In warm, wet country the Lightweight Hammock gets you off the deck entirely.
