The MACWO V2's primary insulation is 100gsm Primaloft Gold Cross Core Ultra with Aerogel — a technology originally developed by NASA for aeronautical applications. Silica aerogel is composed of more than 95% air, making it the lightest solid material known to man and one of the most thermally efficient insulators ever engineered.

A custom 20D Nylon IR Thermal Reflective Lining forms a windproof secondary barrier that captures and redirects radiated body heat — working in concert with the aerogel layer to seal out cold at every level.
