Rig-Mounted Insulated Hand-Warmer — Dexterity-Saving / Packs Away
Three years in development and refined hard along the way, the Stormtrooper is a rig-mounted insulated hand-warmer built for the worst cold on earth. On Sentry, on a stalk, or static for hours, you slide your hands inside and keep the dexterity that runs your weapon, optic, and radio — then tuck it away flat the moment you're moving. Its proving grounds were not a lab — they were high-altitude jumps, screaming alpine wind, and weeks on end in the cold across multiple countries.
✕ Your Core Stays Warm — Your Hands Are What Go Numb
A good jacket keeps your body warm, but it's your hands that work the trigger, the optic, and the comms — and on a long static task they're the first thing to lose feeling. Thick gloves just trade the cold for lost dexterity. This gives your hands a warm, insulated home you slide straight into and pull straight out of: 500D Cordura shell over Primaloft fill, built to take an operational load, shed a soaking without collapsing, and stow flat until you need it.
◈ The Proving Grounds
Development was driven by genuine operational use, not marketing copy:
▸ High-altitude parachute descents to 25,000ft
▸ Wind speeds in excess of 135 knots / 155 mph / 250 km/h
▸ Extended mountain and cold-weather operations across multiple countries
◆ Built To Take Punishment
Outer Shell
500D Cordura Mil-Spec Nylon — built to withstand the toughest terrain and the hardest, most rugged use.
Insulation
40GSM Primaloft fill (2 or 3 layer) over a lightweight lining shared with the SORD MACWO jacket.
▸ Field-Proven Features
| ▣ |
Internal Heater-Pack Pockets Two separate internal pockets with weather-resistant zips, sized for heater packs — drop in a warmer and the whole cavity holds heat around your hands. |
| ◈ |
External Front Pocket A single zippered front pocket for small, easily accessible items. |
| ◆ |
Lower Zippered Blow-Out A lower zippered blow-out section that opens up internal capacity for large items and gloved access. |
| ✦ |
Adjustable Wrist Cuffs Adjustable cuffs at the hand openings seal warmth in around the wrists and accommodate gloves or a wrist-mounted altimeter / GPS. |
| ⟳ |
Quick-Deploy Loops Elasticised quick-deploy loops let you roll the unit up and stow it instantly when it's not in use — least visible until you need it. |
| ▲ |
Integrated Stash Sack Packs the whole unit down small. Removable or stowed within the unit itself. |
◉ Four Ways To Mount It
| 01 | Web dominators (removable) to MOLLE onto any existing rig or MOLLE platform — even kit that wasn't built for it. |
| 02 | Velcro sandwich panel (pile forward) sandwiches into the bottom of a plate carrier, chest rig, or SORD platform — stows flat when not in use. |
| 03 | Belt loops sized for 50mm belts (riggers belt buckles). |
| 04 | Neck strap D-rings for a slung, over-the-shoulder standalone carry (strap not included). |
⬡ Build The Cold-Weather System
The Stormtrooper keeps your hands in the fight — the MACWO range handles the rest of you. Run the MACWO Jacket and MACWO Pants as your cold-weather shell and seal the feet with MACWO Booties. The Stormtrooper shares its lining with the MACWO jacket — it's built as part of the same system.
